This week I am following up from my previous blog post focusing on our latest menswear shirting options to now talk about some more beautiful outwear pieces that have arrived this season. In particular I will be focusing on items composed of either 100% Japanese-made wool or a similar luxury-oriented blend. Once again, these pieces can all be worn with light or heavy layers this Winter and into Spring. I hope you enjoy!
First on my list is the Gravestein Jacket.
This is our newest outerwear piece that has just arrived in-store and I already am in love with it. It is optioned with either a Japanese-made wool melange or a Wool/Viscose/Poly blend twill which are equally as stunning as each other. The 100% Wool version is beautifully textured with a detailed weave composed of white, black and grey fibres for a dynamic greyscale colour palette. The jacket comes equipped with a double layered front with a button closure on the internal layer and an intentional free-flowing drape on the outer. The internal layer, when closed, creates a cowl shaped drape collar or when worn open, paired with the outer drape layers creates a cascading waterfall-like front-facing detail. It also has a D-ring and tie waist-fastening from the side to tie towards front or back to personally alter the silhouette. Insert side pockets and back vent are also included.
The blended fabric version has all the same great details but in a blacked-out option for those who prefer the monochromatic look.

Secondly, I want to draw your attention to the new Gerry Coat HT.
This is another one of the Japanese-made wool options. This one in particular comes in a similar colour-way as the Gravestein, however this one has a subtle houndstooth pattern woven throughout. It is a coarse and textured weave which has a lot of character integrated within the fibres. It is also lined in cotton and acetate in the sleeves for extra warmth. The Corner Jacket, of which it is based on, is sold out, so this is one of the only available jacket in this wonderful cut. The dual-way zip closure allows for some interesting silhouette alterations when paired with the tie-waist fastening. It also sports a mock-neck for some more aggressive styling as well as extra wind-resistance. Finally, the two external drape panels can be attached onto the jacket itself which creates a cowl-collar when fully fastened. Such an amazing piece which can be easily styled with any Et- Al bottoms. It can easily be dressed up as it is a tailored fit. My favourites to wear with this piece are the Presley Pant and the Sylvan Pant SC and a scarf for some extra layers! This coat can be found HERE.
Thirdly, we have the beautiful Hyde Blazer ME.
This is an aggressive, angular and sharp blazer cut made in a deep black Wool / Nylon / Polyester blend Melton. It has a thick and warm tight diagonal weave which can only be admired up close. The sleeves are cut to an extended, exaggerated length as well as having side slip pockets and front-facing 3-D box detailing. It is cut with a higher collar which can be folded into slim notched lapels if desired. It is also broadened with padded shoulders and closed with single button at the front. This is a fabulous re-interpretation of the Elvan Blazer of which I own and wear often. I love it because obviously I am biased towards blazer outerwear, but the fabric is my new favourite one we carry – a perfect Winter weight. It is most certainly a stand-out made in Melbourne piece which can be dressed up or down. It can be found HERE.

Finally, for those interested in a contemporary suit, the Dover Blazer and matching Pant/Shorts are perfect options.
The jacket is a really beautiful slim blazer with raw edges. It has a two-button closure and a charcoal Japanese Cotton / Wool / Linen fabrication. This blend is created with multiple different coloured fibres and woven in an extremely subtle herringbone pattern. It is primarily charcoal but hints of white and silver can be seen throughout the fabric. There are also two Insert pockets and two vents at the rear.
The raw edges will fray slightly more over time for a unique wear pattern on each individual item. The blazer has optioned with it, matching pants or shorts being the Dover Short and the Dover Pant.
These can elevate the look to a full set-up. The Dover Shorts are an interpretation of the Byron Short and the Dover Pants are one of the Acton Pant. The Dover Pant has a stitched in raw-edge cuff for a cohesive pairing with the jacket.
They also have a slight dropped crotch and an elasticated waistband for comfort and ease and variability of fit. The Dover Shorts have a tie-waist and a lower rise intended to be worn on the hips as well as an exaggerated dropped crotch. They are my favourite cut of Shorts we offer and are perfectly proportioned with the Dover Blazer when worn together. The Blazer can be found HERE, the Shorts HERE and the Pants HERE.
