Long before the pandemic COVID-19 broke out, we had scheduled to share with you just some of our favourite local small businesses that we love. Now more than ever it is so important that we work together to support these businesses. Most Melbournians would have either been to or heard of Stuart McKenzies beautifully styled and delicious cafe 'South of Johnston' in Collingwood. I have been going to South of Johnston for many years now, on most weekends (particularly for their corn fritters and cherry pie), but it recently temporarily closed due to this pandemic. My initial blog post was going to highlight Stuart's impeccably styled space that he curates himself, but instead I am focusing on his other business 'Oxford...
During these times of COVID-19, Isolation can be challenging for many, but I must admit, I'm one who doesn't mind time to myself. Being told to stay at home on the couch, with a bottle of red, I think life could be a lot worse. After designing for Christine for the last 12 years, I thought I'd let you get to know a bit more about me with a few snaps of my place of comfort. Here I am chilling on the couch flicking the TV channel wearing my Kover Jacket from a couple of years ago. I don't wear it all the time, but I still love the texture and I always get complimented when I wear it. When...
Some of us like gardening, some of us like knitting. One thing Christine loves to do if she has time is to cook. We recently posted a photo of Christine in her Et Al Top preparing just a 'casual lunch', and we had a lot of responses in our social media messages, so we thought we would let everyone know just what was on the menu! Christine: ''This is called buying too much food at once and having to use it!!! So I thought I would cook a delicious lunch as there is nothing better than a feast to keep you feeling good with fresh produce!" To start, we had Bruschetta; a medley of tomato’s with basil, garlic, olive oil,...
We are so excited to be stocking WILDHORN in our stores, unfortunately with what is going on in the world, we have temporarily closed our stores for the time being, but don't worry, you can still shop with our online store! Accessories are available online here. In the meantime we thought we would ask a few questions to the creative mind behind the brand, to remind us the importance of art and design and hopefully to inspire our clients in these challenging times. Hi Lina, we hope you and your team are safe in these times. Hi guys! Yes we are safe, staying together in Saint Petersburg at home, thank you! Hope you guys are safe too! I’m very happy to be stocking...
One of the best things about living in Melbourne is the art galleries and exhibitions we have access to, so on my birthday I decided to check out the current 'Collecting Comme' exhibition at the NGV. Growing up I was always inspired by many of the Japanese fashion designers, so I was excited to see this exhibition which features more than fifty samples from Takamasa Takahashi's archive of Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garcons and designs of her proteges Junya Watanabe and Tao Kurihara. I was always fascinated by the unusual proportions created by Kawakubo, how she challenges the norms of beauty and the human form, deconstruction detailing and her ability to truly create sculpture through fashion. I thoroughly enjoyed...
